Job Overview
Cashiers manage all monetary exchanges in the restaurant by taking orders and ringing up transactions, serve as a liaison between the guest, the managerial staff, and the kitchen staff, and keep the front area of the restaurant clean and well stocked.
Duties
- Greets all guests politely with a smile when they enter the restaurant.
- Interacts and builds a rapport with guests.
- Delivers exceptional guest service to every guest.
- Take house orders and ensure orders are processed correctly.
- Answers phones in a professional and courteous manner, take carry-out orders.
- Responsible for ensuring delivery and online orders are processed.
- Inputs guest orders into the P.O.S. system; Toast experience a plus.
- Ability to upsell, mention specials and offer guests additional options.
- Monitors orders and ensures their prompt delivery.
- Must have full knowledge of all menu items and ingredients.
- Knowledge of the beers and wine we offer and pair them with the guest’s menu choice.
- Run food to dine-in guests.
- Keeps the counter, dining area, and bathrooms neat and clean.
- Restock supplies.
- Collects money from guests and provides correct change.
- Processes credit cards and debit card transactions.
- Keeps track of cash drawer and ensure it is balanced at the end of their shift.
- Works well in pressure situations and maintains professionalism.
- Listens to and resolves guests complaints, suggestions, and inquiries
- Adheres to company standards, including personal hygiene and appearance.
- Adheres to health department codes regarding food sanitation and handling of food and beverage.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Skills
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry or retail establishment but not required.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral form.
- Basic math skills
- Alcohol Serve Safe certified or the ability to pass a credited Alcohol Serve Safe course a plus.
- Knowledge of craft beer and wine pairing but not required.
